Sheffield, Lyceum Theatre &
Winter Gardens:
30 September, 2008

The new building will make an enormous impact on all regions of Yorkshire not just Leeds where the building will be located. Northern Ballet Theatre supporter and respected South Yorkshire business woman Julie Kenny showed her support for the project by organising a momentum reception in Sheffield.

Key members of the South Yorkshire community enjoyed refreshments at the Winter Gardens in central Sheffield where they heard more about the project from NBT Chief Executive Mark Skipper. Guests included the High Sherriff, the Lord Lieutenant and the Earl and Countess of Scarborough.

Julie, of Rotherham based Pyronix Ltd, spoke passionately about what the building would mean for young people in deprived areas of South Yorkshire who thought that professional dance was beyond their reach. The creation of the centre of excellence will mean that many more people in the north of England will have the chance to enjoy, understand and participate in dance.
