Building momentum
momentum – The campaign for a new dance centre in Leeds for
Northern Ballet Theatre (NBT)
and Phoenix Dance Theatre
(Phoenix).
NBT and Phoenix are building a future for dance in Leeds for dance artists,
enthusiasts and audiences across the north of England. This purpose-built
dance centre will be the largest space for dance outside of London and will
bring together two of the UK's leading dance companies. It will be the
only space for dance to house a national classical and a national contemporary
dance company alongside each another. The momentum
campaign was launched in January 2008 to raise the outstanding funds needed to
secure the completion of the £12 million project.
Our dream is well on its way to becoming reality and thanks to a significant pledge
from Leeds Metropolitan University and
generous contributions from the private sector we have secured more than £1.0
million of the £1.5 million we need to raise. Help us reach our target and
create a bright future for dance in the north of England.
